The moment I heard We’d Like to Wish You All a Merry Christmas I fell in love with it.
Jonty who has been a Qatar resident for three years now, actually wrote the song a year ago. His inspiration was that last Christmas was the first Christmas Jonty and his family had spent away from home.
However this Christmas the lyrics jumped out at me, and I associated with them instantly. My first thought was that Jonty had written the song during the COVID pandemic. But he was honest when asked, and explained that he wrote it for last Christmas.
