Allow expats to change jobs only thrice suggests the Shura council

The number of times an expat should be allowed to change employer should not exceed three times during the workers stay in the country.

Other recommendations include; the number of workers who receive approval to change employer should not exceed 15% of the total workforce annually for a single company. Also a worker should be prohibited from requesting a change of employer during their contract period, which should not exceed two years. And the percentage of workers who are not allowed to travel without permission from the employer should increase from 5% to 10%.

Education Above All platform to assist children in Qatar not enrolled in any school

The Education Above All Foundation or EAA, has asked parents of school aged children, who are not enrolled in any school, to fill in an expression of an interest form to find the right solution for them.

The EAA’s new platform aims to identify children in Qatar facing barriers to access education and find the right solutions for them.

Covid cured not on priority list for vaccination

Those who have recovered from COVID-19 are not given priority in the vaccination against the pandemic. This is based on the fact that studies indicate that they acquire immunity that could last for some time following recovery. However, it is being stressed that people need to strictly abide by preventative and precautionary measures until herd immunity is achieved in society.
