Allow expats to change jobs only thrice suggests the Shura council
The number of times an expat should be allowed to change employer should not exceed three times during the workers stay in the country.
Other recommendations include; the number of workers who receive approval to change employer should not exceed 15% of the total workforce annually for a single company. Also a worker should be prohibited from requesting a change of employer during their contract period, which should not exceed two years. And the percentage of workers who are not allowed to travel without permission from the employer should increase from 5% to 10%.
Education Above All platform to assist children in Qatar not enrolled in any school
The Education Above All Foundation or EAA, has asked parents of school aged children, who are not enrolled in any school, to fill in an expression of an interest form to find the right solution for them.
The EAA’s new platform aims to identify children in Qatar facing barriers to access education and find the right solutions for them.
Covid cured not on priority list for vaccination
Those who have recovered from COVID-19 are not given priority in the vaccination against the pandemic. This is based on the fact that studies indicate that they acquire immunity that could last for some time following recovery. However, it is being stressed that people need to strictly abide by preventative and precautionary measures until herd immunity is achieved in society.
Today’s weather will see generally moderate temperatures with scattered clouds.
Doha will see temperatures between 18 and 24 degrees. Elsewhere in Qatar it will be between 16 and 24 degrees. Cooler in the south and warmer in the north.
Now today’s COVID update.
In the last 24-hour period, active cases of COVID-19 have decreased by 33, to 9,917.
There were 463 new cases shown here in red and 495 recoveries shown here in green. Please keep following COVID precautions because together we can beat this.
