Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture kicks off

The Qatar USA year of culture aims to enhance cultural and artistic exchange between the two countries.

Hamad Medical Corporation resumes face to face outpatient appointments

Only patients with an appointment will be admitted to the Hamad Medical Corporation facilities. And attendees will need to show their Ehteraz status and have their body temperature taken prior to entry.

Hamad Medical Corporation will continue to offer virtual clinics for some follow up appointments or repeat prescriptions.

The Ministry of Public Health urges parents to ensure flu vaccine shots for their children

The ministry has reminded the public that this year it’s more important than ever to get the flu vaccination especially for children.

“Children are more susceptible to flu. protect your children from getting the virus and spreading it. Get them vaccinated” Said the National Head for Children and Adolescent Health Strategy.

Qatar’s weather in general today will be Misty to foggy in places at first becoming moderate temperature daytime with some clouds. And relatively cold by tonight.

Doha will see a high of 28 degrees and a low of 18. Abu Samra Continues to be the coldest with an expected low of 11 degrees.

And there’s a fog warning in place.

The country is expected to witness mist and fog in some places during the night and early morning until tomorrow the Qatar Metrological Department has warned.

In the last 24-hour period, active cases of COVID-19 have increased by 27, to 3,231.

10,132 COVID-19 tests were performed, and just 2.01% of those tested positive.

Of those testing positive 40 were travellers who are now in quarantine.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Qatar National Tourism Council have unveiled investment opportunities for the private sector to develop 3 beach resorts around the coast of Qatar.

Vaccination drive to cover entire population

As more COVID-19 vaccine arrives in Qatar the vaccination campaign will be expanded to cover the whole population said a senior official at the Ministry of Public Health

“The vaccines are arriving in Qatar in large quantities and gradually the COVID-19 vaccination campaign will be expanded to all” said Director of Public Health at the Ministry of Public Health Dr. Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani.

Air Arabia to resume Sharjah-Doha flights on January the 18th

Qatar metrological Department are forecasting fine and cooler weather today.  Temperatures in Doha will be ranging from 14 degrees to 26 degrees. But the temperature in Abu Samra could drop to his lowest 6 degrees today. In fact yesterday it dropped to 4 degrees in Abu Samra Which is the coldest weather recorded so far in Qatar this season. Qatar will Cold by night, misty in places by late night. I think we need to order a snow plough and keep it on standby down South just in case.

In the last 24-hour period, active cases of COVID-19 have increased by 42, to 3,182.

12,894 COVID-19 tests were performed, and just 1.62% of those tested positive.

Of those testing positive 35 were travellers who are now in quarantine.

The new strategy sets a road map for a sustainable and more prosperous future for Qatar and the world.

It also establishes a number of targets in alignment with the goals of the Paris agreement and sets in motion a plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

Qatar starts second dose of vaccine shots

Earlier this week, the second dose of the Pfizer Biontech’s COVID-19 vaccine was given to those that had received their first dose back on December the 23rd.  The second dose is given 21 days after the first dose.

Guy Ritchie film to begin production in Doha today

Guy Ritchie’s highly anticipated upcoming untitled film, will kick off production in Qatar today.

The film reunites Richie once again, with action-thriller phenomenon Jason Statham. Marking their second film together for Miramax following Wrath of Man.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment signs contract to build Container City.

The main purpose of the project expected to come into operation within four months, is to provide an alternative storage facility to citizens and expatriates. And to curb the practise of the random stockpiling of their belongings in residential areas, farms and public places. Which in turn will protect the environment and ensure health and safety.

930 vehicles cross Abu Samra border

A total of 930 vehicles crossed the Abu Samra border in the first 3 days of the land Customs Department counters there resuming work.

A total of 835 vehicles crossed the border into Saudi Arabia while 95 entered Qatar.

Qatar museums make new discovery in Asaila archaeological site

The Department of archaeology at Qatar museums has announced the discovery of new archaeological remains in Asaila which is located West of Qatar about 12 kilometres East of Umm Bab. Said to be one of the oldest archaeological sites in the country.

They uncovered the remains of important individuals who were buried on top of a plateau in large and carefully constructed burial mounds. Together with personal items such as a sword, metal tools and a golden earring.

The weather generally in Qatar Will be cold with some clouds, and hazy in places later.

Doha will see a maximum of 23 degrees and a minimum of 16. While Messaid remains the coolest part of Qatar with a minimum temperature of as low as 9 degrees.

Qatar Airways resumes flights to Saudi Arabia

The first flight QR1164 from Hamad International Airport to King Khaled International Airport took off from Doha yesterday at 13:45 local time and landed safely at its destination at 15:10.

Qatar Airways will resume flights to Jeddah on Thursday January the 14th and Dammam on Saturday the 16th.

The national carrier continues to rebuild its network which currently stands at over 110 destinations with plans to increase to over 125 by the end of March.

Not a single COVID-19 vaccine complication case in Qatar

Says the medical director of Hamad General Hospital. He said thousands of people have received the COVID-19 vaccine in Qatar so far and everyone is in excellent condition.

Doctor Yousef Al Maslamani went on to say there are destinations and airlines such as the Australian Airlines that require vaccination as a precondition of boarding their aircraft.

Electronic games and trampolines reopen with 50% capacity

The second stage of the reopening of recreational activities in amusement cities and parks began yesterday.

The first stage saw the reopening of outdoor playgrounds, kids’ outdoor games, billiards and bowling alleys back on the 3rd of January.

The third stage which starts from January the 24th will see the reopening of bouncers, inflatable games, and ball pits.

Qatar’s weather generally will see moderate temperatures today with scattered clouds at times, relatively cold by night.

Doha will have a maximum temperature of 24 degrees and a minimum of 17. Which compared to Messaid is relatively warm as their temperature could be as low as 9 degrees today.

11,524 COVID-19 tests were performed, and just 1.63% of those tested positive.
