Committees ramp up plans to tackle COVID-19 surge
With Qatar witnessing a surge in COVID-19 infections in recent days, committees dealing with the coronavirus have reactivated their plans to tackle the pandemic.
Dr. Ahmed Al Mohammed says that “The increase in COVID-19 cases is still in it’s infancy and can be considered as a warning bell. If correct measures are taken, the current situation can be controlled”.
Only individual outdoor sporting activities allowed this National Sports Day.
In a statement yesterday the organising committee said all sporting activities this year should be individual and outdoors only.
Photography violating privacy to invite action.
The Ministry of Interior reiterated yesterday that unauthorised photography in public place with cameras or mobile phones, violating the sanctity of private life, can incur a penalty of up to ten thousand riyals and up to 2 years in jail.
