Contracts to clearly mention the tasks and working hours of domestic workers
Domestic workers coming to Qatar will soon have their working hours, tasks, leave and overtime entitlements clearly defined in their Labour contracts. A new version of the standard employment contract for domestic workers that complements Law No.15 of 2017 was recently introduced by the ministry of administrative development Labour and social affairs.
No change in quarantine exemption at present
Doctor Yousef Al Maslamani the medical director at Hamad General Hospital said “the available data shows that it is possible to exempt from quarantine for a period of three months. If additional information reveals that the effectiveness of the vaccine can extend up to six months or a year, then this would be a good thing. Then the period of exemption from quarantine may extend up to six months or more.”
Qatar tops global Internet adoption list with 99% users
A Hootsuite report says Qatar has 2.87 million social media users equivalent to 98.8% of the total population as of January 2021, ranking it number one globally in Internet adoption.
