Dust storm sweep Qatar and affects visibility

A massive dust storm swept through the country yesterday reducing visibility to as low as two kilometres in most areas. The dusty weather continued for quite some time. The bad weather conditions prevailing across the country have forced several entities to postpone their competitions and activities that were to be held yesterday or today. Including Al Khor Carnival which was supposed to open yesterday, and the Aspire Zone Foundation postponed the Qatar Strongest Man Competition.

According to the Al Arabia TV channel yesterday, which was citing the Saudi Foreign Minister.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment urges the public to cut food waste

A Ministry of Municipality and Environment official says that large quantities of food wastes have been observed at municipal waste management and collection plants.

The ministry is implementing a programme aimed at reducing food waste from the entire supply chain.

Qatar’s Met Office is warning of strong winds and poor visibility.

Doha see temperatures of between 14 and 20 degrees.

Messied and Al Khor Will be the coolest with temperatures as low as 12 degrees.

Now today’s COVID update.

In the last 24-hour period, active cases of COVID-19 have increased by 130, to 3,532.

10,342 COVID-19 tests were performed, and just 2.49% of those tested positive.

Of those testing positive 37 were travellers who are now in quarantine.
