Fuel prices go up for June

Both Premium and Super grades go up by 5 dirhams each, meaning that premium is now 1.85 riyals per litre, and super is now 1.9 riyals per litre. Diesel increases by an additional 10 dirhams bringing that to 1.75 riyals per litre.

38-kilometre-long shared pedestrian and cycling path opens on Al Khor road

The public works authority Ashghal has opened the shared pedestrian and cycling tracks on the eastern side of Al Khor road, integrating with the Olympic Cycling Track on the western side, giving more opportunities for hobbyists to practise cycling and jogging in complete safety. The track is 38 kilometres long and 6 metres wide, passing through 18 underpasses, to provide a smooth and uninterrupted movement. In order to facilitate better use of the tracks there are 80 cycle parking points, 100 benches and 20 resting areas along the road. I would need every single one of those.

Customs foils attempt to smuggle banned pills

The Air Cargo and Private Airports customs has foiled an attempt to smuggle prohibited Lyrica pills into the country disguised as Baked Beans. A total of 2,805 pills were found inside a food shipment after it raised the suspicions of a customs official.

In the last 24-hour period, there have been 228 new cases of COVID-19 and 329 recoveries. Unfortunately, there was also 2 Covid related deaths. Which means for the 4th day running there has been a decrease in active cases, today dropping by 103 giving us a new current total of 3,566 active cases.
