Hamad Medical Corporation facility discharges last COVID-19 patients as cases fall
Hamad General Hospital’s Surgical Speciality Centre or SSC, is one of seven Hamad Medical Corporation facilities that had been designated to treat COVID-19 patients through the 2nd wave of the virus. Yesterday the unit discharged its last COVID-19 patients and prepared to return to normal operations.
Action against 777 for flouting COVID-19 norms
The Ministry of Interior said yesterday that 777 people were referred to the Public Prosecution for violating the preventative and precautionary measures enforced by the country to contain the spread of COVID-19.
478 for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory, 73 for not maintaining safe physical distancing, and 205 for gathering at parks or on the Corniche. 4 for not installing the Ehteraz app, and 8 for violating the vehicle occupancy rule which stipulates that a maximum of only 4 persons including the driver are allowed in a vehicle except where the occupants are members of the same family.

In the last 24-hour period, there have been 256 new cases of COVID-19 and 770 recoveries. Unfortunately, there were also 4 Covid related deaths. Which means for the 23rd day running there has been a reduction in active cases, today dropping by 518 giving us a new current total of 5,576 active cases.
