In today’s Gulf Times – Wearing of face masks outside of your home is to become mandatory from Sunday May 17th. Except when a person is driving a vehicle alone. Non compliance carries a fine of up to 200,000 riyals and / or a prison sentence of up to three years.

Qatar Airways say their tickets are now valid for 2 years with unlimited changes allowed on dates. Plus a customer can also change their destination as long as it’s within 5,000 miles of the original destination.

A new hospital has been opened for males who have recovered from COVID-19. The hospital has 504 single rooms with their own bathrooms. And is to cater for recovered patients to convalesce and quarantine for 14 days.

Yesterday saw the welcome reintroduction of food pickup from restaurants and cafes.

And Hamad Medical Corporation are warning that despite the misconception that smoking dokha with a medwakh pipe is safer than cigarettes. It is in fact much more dangerous. Seriously people you don’t need professionals to tell you that any kind of smoking is bad for you. You know it’s bad for you.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry have confirmed the incorrectness of photographs portraying crowds outside money exchanges yesterday. They say the images circulated on social media yesterday, showing overcrowding and lack of social distancing rules are old.

The Ministry of Public Health say there are, 1,390 new COVID cases. 124 Recoveries and no new additional deaths.
