I was on site at the new Souq Waqif in Wakra this morning and thought I would pop a couple of pictures up so that anyone unfamiliar with this project can see this lovely development approaching completion.
It’s in a beautiful location right next to the sea complete with shipwrecked dhows on the beach. This is going to be a lovely place to visit in the evening, with a nice sea breeze and salty seaweed smell.
I am only puzzled as to why they named it Souq Waqif when there is already a Souq Waqif in Doha. Alright I know this one is in Wakra, but why not call it something other than Souq Waqif? Now if you say you are going to Souq Waqif you will have to also say which one you are going to.
