People recovered from COVID-19 exempt from quarantine

The Ministry of Public Health has issued an update to the quarantine protocol and testing for COVID-19. As per the update people who have recovered from COVID-19 will be exempt from quarantine. And all travellers coming into Qatar must undergo a COVID-19 examination at a medical centre approved by the local Ministry of Health in the country they are coming from within 72 hours before their arrival in Qatar.

COVID-19 measures to continue

The cabinet has affirmed the continuation of precautionary measures taken to combat COVID-19.

The Ministry of Public Health issues sick leave guidelines for quarantined employees

Employees with infectious COVID-19 must be placed under appropriate isolation for not less than 14 days and they will be eligible for sick leave. Employees with non-infectious COVID-19 must be placed under appropriate isolation for a period of seven days and they will be eligible for seven days sick leave. If they are required to enter hospital and the isolation period is extended for a period of more than 14 days, the entire period will be considered as sick leave.

QNCC vaccine centre to work in two shifts

The primary healthcare Corporation has announced revised working hours at the Qatar National Convention Centre COVID-19 vaccination centre, for the holy month of Ramadan. The centre will work in two shifts seven days a week, with effect from yesterday, according to a post on social media. The first shift is from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM, with the last entry at 3:00 PM, and the 2nd shift is from 7:00 PM until 1:00 AM, with the last entry at midnight.

Qatar’s weather today

Doha will see temperatures between 24 and 38 degrees. Elsewhere in the country it will be between 19 and 36 degrees.

Now today’s COVID update.

In the last 24-hour period, there have been 819 new cases of COVID-19 and 757 recoveries. Unfortunately, there were also 9 Covid related deaths. Which means there’s been an increase of 53 cases giving us a new current total of 22,592 active cases.
