Population shrinks by 147,000 in nine months
Over a span of nine months Qatar saw its population shrink by more than 147,000 people. Dropping from 2.807 million in May 2020, down to 2.66 million in February 2021. The male population stands at 1.9 million, and there are 750,910 females in Qatar.
Over 61% of people aged over 70 have got at least one COVID vaccine dose according to the Ministry of Public Health.
Doctor Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari the minister of Public Health says “I encourage our elders and all those eligible at this time not to delay starting their vaccination process. The sooner you start, the sooner you will be protected.“
304 face action for violating COVID-19 norms
Yesterday 304 people were referred to the public prosecution for violating preventative and precautionary measures.
266 people for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory, 25 were found violating the maximum number of four people allowed in a vehicle at a time including the driver except when they are members of one family , 5 others did not comply with quarantine, and 8 for not installing the Ehteraz app on their mobile phone.

Today’s weather will see moderate temperatures with some clouds.
Doha will be between 20 and 25 degrees. Elsewhere in Qatar it will be between 17 and 27 degrees.

In the last 24-hour period, there have been 463 new cases of COVID-19 and 359 recoveries. Which means there’s been an increase of 104 cases giving us a new current total of 9,921 active cases.
