Private healthcare staff to be redeployed

Last week the cabinet announced a decision to stop all non-emergency services at private healthcare facilities from April the 1st as part of the COVID-19 response. The decision will provide a boost to the public healthcare sector as private healthcare staff will be freed up from their normal roles and redeployed for COVID-19 support roles within Hamad Medical Corporation and the Primary Healthcare Corporation, the Qatar News Agency has said.

Qatar ramps up COVID response

As Hamad Medical Corporation bars visitors at 7 COVID-19 hospitals and the Primary Healthcare Corporation temporarily suspends PCR swab tests for travellers. Travellers however can continue to get tests done at private sector facilities.
