In today’s newspapers

Qatar Airways files lawsuit in English High Court against the Al Arabiya TV channel.

An Al Arabiya video Broadcast in August 2017, included an animation which depicted a Qatar Airways aircraft being intercepted and potentially being shot down by a fighter jet, in the context of the illegal blockade.

The video was widely viewed in the UK and worldwide and caused a storm of media outrage at the time. With the UK’s Daily Mail commenting that it constituted a chilling warning that Saudi Arabia could blast a Qatari passenger plane out of the Sky. And which the UK’s Independent newspaper described as beyond provocative.

Apartment owners asked to register their interest in leasing properties for Qatar 2022

Apartments which must be fully furnished can be located anywhere though preference will be given to properties in the Pearl and Lusail.

There’s no minimum requirement in terms of the number of properties landlords must supply.

And landlords have one month to register their interest in leasing their properties

The leasing period can be one, six or twelve months.

Technical tests of the Lusail tram have begun

And Qatar Rail are saying “We have started the technical tests of the Lusail tram in Lusail City. And therefore, we urge drivers and pedestrians in that area to abide by traffic signals on the roads to ensure their safety”.

And now today’s COVID update.

In the last 24-hour period, active cases of COVID-19 have dropped by 11 to 2,695.

8,514 COVID-19 tests were performed, and just 2.23% of those tested positive.

Of those testing positive 39 were travellers returning to Qatar, and they are now in quarantine.
