The big story is the clarification of quarantine rules for entering Qatar, once you have approval to return that is.
For those travelling from low risk countries with a valid negative test certificate, you can self-quarantine at home. If you don’t have a valid test certificate, then you must be tested on arrival at the airport. In either case you must make a pledge to follow the home quarantine rules. And agree to be tested at the end of one week.
For those travelling from countries not on the low risk list.
If you posse a valid negative test certificate, you can also make a pledge and self-quarantine for 7 days at home. For those without a certificate, you will need to spend 7 days at your own expense in a quarantine hotel. And if you test negative at the end of seven days, you can then self-quarantine for a further 7 days at home. Test possitive and you are off to an isolation facility.
For workers returning who are housed in camps. And also domestic workers. Because you can’t self-quarantine for a week after a 7 day hotel quarantine. You will need a total of 14 days in a quarantine Hostel instead.
50,000 benefit from Qatar’s Eid initiative. The ‘Our Eid is One – Initiative 2’ was set up to help the expatriate community living in Qatar, celebrate Eid in their own homes.
50,000 residents from 17 nationalities benefited from 25,000 food coupons. Which included necessary food materials for Eid.
25,000 greeting cards, and 3,000 gifts for children were also distributed.
Now here’s a quick COVID update
Yesterday new infections dropped below 200 at just 196 new daily cases. Compare that with the 2,355 new daily cases back on May 30th.
Active cases have decreased by 8 people. Bringing the active cases to 3,151 in the last 24 hour period.
The 7 day average of new infections is currently 6.28% of those tested.
