10,000 riyal fine and/or one year jail sentence for failing to pay minimum wage.

Qatar has set a minimum wage of 1,000 riyals for all employees including household staff. On top of this there’s an additional 500 riyals housing allowance, and 300 riyals food allowance, if housing and meals are not provided by the employer.

Employers now face a fine of 10,000 riyals and/or one year in jail for failing to Pay their staff accordingly.
