In today’s newspapers.

New academic year begins with blended learning from today

340,000 students are ready to attend school this academic year

Measures have been put in place to protect children from the coronavirus

And absence of students will not be marked during the first 2 weeks of September

Blended learning involves schools operating with a maximum of 30% attendance at any one time. Students will only attend school once or twice a week to undertake lessons that are best suited to a classroom environment. However in the beginning the majority of lessons will remain remote learning.

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Phase four of lifting COVID-19 restrictions begins today

Phase four which is now in two parts begins today with the following:-

  • Malls will be open at 50% capacity while food courts will be restricted to 30%. Children under 12, are now allowed inside malls.  
  • Metro and bus services resume at 30% capacity
  • gatherings of a maximum of 15 people indoors and 30 people outdoors are now allowed
  • staff capacity at workplace is limited to a maximum of 80% employees for both public and private sector
  • playgrounds and leisure centres will remain closed

Kahramaa achieves new Guinness World Record

Qatar’s General Electric and water Corporation ‘Kahramaa’ has achieved a new World Record for Qatar by entering the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest drinking water storage tank of it’s kind in the world. With a massive capacity 436,000 cubic metres.  That’s a lot of drinking water.

Cleaning hospitality and service companies to resume work from today.

For both workplaces and for your homes. So now not only the kids back in school, but you can also get someone in to do the cooking and cleaning. Happy days.

Active cases of COVID-19 are now around 2,900. With 237 recoveries and 203 new cases.

Of those being tested, as a 7 day average we are now down to almost 4 people in 100 testing positive.
