Eight more public schools to be established by 2022

Yesterday saw the signing of a contract to construct eight new public schools under the public-private sector partnership system.

The Gulf times has images on its front page, to go with its headline ‘Schools reopen, Metro back on track as Phase four begins’.

The slogan and logo for the Doha 2030 Asian games campaign bid is unveiled.

The slogan is ‘Your Gateway’

And an official statement from the bid committee said “the logo reflects Qatar’s combination of tradition and modernity, and its commitment to hosting a magical games with an enduring legacy for Asia.”

Yes and if you look long enough you can see that.

Three arrested with 29 kilogrammes of hashish and 10 kilogrammes of meth.

The general administration for drug control of Qatar’s Ministry of Interior. Have arrested three men on charges of trading prohibited narcotic substances. The ministry said 29 kilogrammes of hashish and 10.2 kilogrammes of methamphetamine were seized from the accused who are of Asian nationality.

Not in the newspapers today, but I’ll tell you anyway is that Qatar’s Cinemas reopened yesterday. All the usual precautionary measures are in place, along with plenty of sanitising and continuous cleaning to ensure your health and safety. And to be extra safe for the moment, you need to be aged 18 or over to watch a movie.

Screens are now fitted to the food and beverage area, and seats have been blocked off, to keep a safe distance between you and others.

There’s plenty of great blockbusters to watch so grab your popcorn, and take a socially distanced seat, to experience the big screen once again.

Active cases of COVID-19 are now around 2,900. With 228 recoveries and 216 new cases.

Of those being tested, as a 7 day average we are now almost down to 4 people in 100 testing positive.
