Private companies have started mass hiring signalling a revival in Qatar’s job market.

And the ongoing hiring is not just for blue collar unskilled workers. Companies are also looking for white collar skilled workers as well.

Qatar is expected to be listed in the Top Ten countries in the Global Food Securities Index by next year.

Qatar ranked 29th in the index in 2017 when the blockade was imposed. With the help of the food security programme, Qatar jumped to 22nd position in 2018. And in 2019 made another major achievement by securing 13th position.

Qatar has achieved self-sufficiency in a number of fresh products. Including 106% self-sufficiency in fresh milk, and 127% self-sufficiency in fresh chicken.

Qatar has also achieved 75% self-sufficiency in fish production, and targets 95% by 2023 with the help of under construction fish farming projects on floating cages.

Barwa Real Estate Group is planning to develop integrated cities for the low and middle-class segments, as part of its efforts to enhance its position as a strategic real estate developer.

Active cases of COVID-19 are up by 15 on yesterday’s figures at 2,801.

23 of these are travellers coming into the country and testing positive. Who are now in quarantine.

In total 7,485 COVID-19 tests were performed, and just 2.73% of those tested positive, which is the same as yesterday’s all time low figure.
