Qatar – Saudi border trade resume from Sunday

Truck drivers coming from Saudi Arabia must have a negative COVID-19 test, certified by the Saudi health ministry and taken within 72 hours before arriving at the port.

Incoming drivers and trucks will not enter Qatar. Goods will be unloaded at the border port and then reloaded onto local trucks for transportation into Qatar.

The Ministry of Public Health gives nod for use of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine

Doctor Aisha Ibrahim Al Ansari, Director of Pharmacy and Drug Control says “we will soon receive the first delivery of Moderna vaccine, and while this will be of a limited quantity initially, this is an encouraging development and we can expect regular, larger deliveries of both Moderna and Pfizer Biontech vaccines, to arrive in Qatar in the next days and weeks.”

Age limit lowered to 50 for COVID vaccination

Commencing yesterday, the age limit for COVID-19 vaccination has been reduced from 60 to 50 years old for expatriate’s. And for Qataris there is no longer an age limit.

On to today’s weather. There’s a Met Department warning that there’s going to be poor visibility in most places at the start of the day.

Doha will see temperatures between 16 and 27 degrees. Today’s lowest temperature will be in Al Khor which will see temperatures as low as 12 degrees.

Now today’s COVID update.

In the last 24-hour period, active cases of COVID-19 have increased by 191, to 7,749.

11,196 COVID-19 tests were performed, and 4.03% of those tested positive.

Of those testing positive 39 were travellers who are now in quarantine.
