In today’s newspapers

QVC in India to start processing domestic workers applications

Qatar’s Visa Centres in India will start processing applications for people seeking to come to Qatar as domestic workers or similar categories from today.

1,100 electric buses to ferry FIFA World Cup 2022 fans

Four parking lots for electric buses are under construction along with some 700 electric charging stations. And after the FIFA World Cup in 2022, these electric buses will be used as public transport within the country.

Drive through vaccination a massive hit

More than 110,000 people have used the drive through centres in Al Wakra and Lusail according to the Ministry of Public Health.

The drive through vaccination centres account for nearly 8% of people who have taken jabs since the start of Qatar’s National Vaccination Campaign.

Those attending the drive thru centres are seen on a first come first see basis. You’re advised to ensure you have enough fuel in your car for the duration of your visit, plan your visit when you know you do not have anything important within the next few hours, bring a drink and a small snack with you in case the wait is longer than expected, bring a book to read or have something to listen to on your car stereo, and if possible avoid bringing young children who may get impatient with any potential delay.

Qatar’s weather today

Doha will see temperatures between 26 and 40 degrees. Elsewhere in the country it will be between 20 and 41 degrees.

Now today’s COVID update.

In the last 24-hour period, there have been 718 new cases of COVID-19 and 1,513 recoveries. Unfortunately, there were also 5 Covid related deaths. Which means for the third day running there has been a decrease in active cases, today dropping by a whopping 800 giving us a new current total of 21,104 active cases.
