Today you join us in the Crossroads restaurant located in the City Centre Marriott Marquise. Where we’re trying out their Sunday Street Food theme ‘Noodles’. At just QR 65 for a choice of 2 noodle dishes out of a possible 4, it represents tremendous value. And if you watch the video, you will see that it’s 100% authentic.

Steve and I would like to thank Chef de Cuisine in charge of crossroads: chef Jega. And Chef de Partie Munira. Both from Malaysia. Who prepared two amazing dishes for us.

Come and experience traditional fish and chips with Rachel Morris who in my opinion is Qatar’s number one food critic. And she’s also the owner and operator of life on the wedge Which is Qatar’s must read food and travel blog. And joining her is myself, Brian Candy. A bloke who likes eating a lot and talking a lot.
You join us At Crossroads Kitchen A street food restaurant within the Marriott Marquis Doha. Offering great food from around the world at exceedingly reasonable prices.

Well it came and it went. Two top quality weeks with my boy and his lovely lady Maz. It’s been a fantastic couple of weeks with many fabulous memories. And a lot of those were at the Marriott Doha. Who kindly assisted us in so many ways that ensured that we didn’t just have a good time, we had an unforgettable one.

Bri & Maz @DohaMarriott

Our final day together was at the Marriott Doha Pool & Beach thanks to a great offer on Qgrabs that made the day great value as well. To be honest we would not have spent the last day at the Marriott at it’s full price. Had it not been for the Qgrabs offer we would not have considered it. But at QR 75 each, we thought it would be a decent shout. Obviously on reflection, we had such a good time, not only would we have been prepared to pay full price, we would have been more than happy to pay double. Because once again we have priceless memories.

Bri & Maz @DohaMarriott Beach

I cried at the airport watching these two disappear through security, I hate goodbyes 🙁 But we have some amazing images to look back on, and now it’s time to look forward to the next vacation. Or who know’s, maybe Bri Jnr will be working here in 2015 if I can find him a suitable job. They both want to come over to stay big style. Commence mission to find Bri a job!

Look you can accuse me of being tight (a British term for someone who doesn’t like spending money), but I just can’t bring myself to pay full rates for a ‘Pool & Beach Pass’ at any of the hotels. So when I spotted the Qgrabs offer of half price access to the Marriott pool and beach I was landed (landed is a British term meaning happy). Normally costing QR 150 (week day) each it was only QR 75 with Qgrabs. Now when there are 3 of you, and it’s your shout (a British term beaning it’s your turn to pay), that’s a massive saving of QR 225.

Me and my boy were also a bit naughty and crept into the Spa area to take advantage of the wonderful jacuzzi, steam room and plunge pool, which I think aren’t included in the pool pass. My son was keen to try the whole steam room, sprint and jump into plunge pool thing. And that box is now ticked 😉

Ice Bucket Challenge @ Marriott Doha

Talking of plunge pools, another box my son was able to tick was the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’. Which the staff of the Marriott were very happy to help facilitate. Thank you Marriott social media team for supplying the ice, water and bucket required to undertake this modern day phenomena (a general term for something new and stupid).

So a fabulous day, at a bargain price, with some hotel endorsed extras (and some not so endorsed).

Thank you Marriott Doha, thank you Qgrabs 😀
