It’s Friday 15th of May, this is the news in around 60 seconds

The Ministry of Public Health say there are, 1,733 new COVID cases. 213 Recoveries and no new additional deaths.

And the Qatar Tribune are saying that the reason for the large number of new cases is because of a ‘Lack of commitment to social distancing’. And they emphasize that ‘Now more than ever, it is important that people strictly follow preventative measures.

Online, the Gulf Times are saying that in a recent survey. Nearly 12% of community survey participants test positive.

The survey conducted on the 6th and 7th of May. Reveals that out of every 100 people in the community, there are 12 cases who do not have any symptoms. That means that if you are in a room with 100 people around you, with none of them showing any symptoms of COVID-19, the likelihood is that 12 of them who appear perfectly normal, are in fact infected and showing no symptoms.

This is why you must take precautions, even when you can’t see any danger.

The Qatar Olympic Committee has extended the suspension of all local sports activities until 31st of May.

And finally

The Ministry of Education say that COVID-19 will not affect the new school year. And over 11,000 students are set to take high school exams. Which will be held in 149 centers with 6,100 employees assigned to act as observers.
