Marriott Marquis

The Marriott Marquis is located at one end of City Centre Mall. With easy parking and a Metro station by its side getting here is easy. And right here in the heart of West Bay, guests can enjoy this oasis of quiet, calm and tranquillity. And the pool area is not only for residents, day passes are also available for just 100 riyals, with half price for ladies.

The Aqua Lounge is also available for non-residents, if you’re in the West Bay area, why not drop in for a spot of refreshment? And with the Aqua Lounge Cabanas, it doesn’t matter if the weather is too hot or too cold, because you have your own cosy space complete with doors and AC.

And something I am very excited to tell you about is the New York Steakhouse Business Lunch. This is a quality menu which works out costing less than shall we say errr… lesser steakhouses. At just 95 riyals for two courses and 125 for three, I simply don’t know how they do it. I went for the steak tartar to start, a steak for main, which by the way was cooked to perfection, and honestly the best Crème Brulee I have ever had because it was wider rather than deeper, so I got more of that delicious, caramelised sugar to crack on top.

And you get to enjoy your meal in an absolute luxurious setting.

Talking of luxury, I popped into the Saray Spa. And if you fancy a bit of unadulterated self-indulgence, you need to pop in here as well. Because they’ll get you renewed for the journey ahead. With a comprehensive menu of treatments, you’ll ready to take on the world again in no time.

Now back to the Aqua Lounge. Offering food and drinks both soft and otherwise, along with a certain regional smoking pass time, which can be enjoyed with great views of the city.

And yes down there is the Doha Exhibition and Conference Center. And even if you don’t stay in the Marriott Marquis while attending an event there, you still have these excellent facilities right next to the DECC ready for you to enjoy.

Now let me introduce you to Chef Claudio Trovato

He’s transformed this restaurant into his family restaurant. I forgot where I was as he gave me a tour. It felt like I really could be in his family home restaurant. Everything here is prepared the traditional way. That pizza dough has taken 72 hours to prepare for you.

If you like Italian, and you haven’t already done so, you have got to come and visit Cucina. Tell Chef Claudio Trovato I sent you.

This quick tour only covers a fraction of the delights within the Marriott Marquis, you’ll have to come and discover the rest yourself.
