When visiting Souq Waqif you may come across this popular attraction.
It’s the shop belonging to Saad Ismail also known as the Old Pearl Diver. Because he was a pearl diver, and well… now he’s old.
Drop in and have a chat with him. He will keep you entertained for ages with his stories of the past, and in return perhaps you could help support him by making a small purchase or two.
In his shop window there are some lovely images of Saad back in his prime. And I can’t help wondering if I’ve seen him somewhere before.
