Incentives for the private sector extended for a further three months

The Prime Minister has announced steps in the implementation of the directives of His Highness the Amir to support the private sector.

Including the exemption from customs duties, for food and medical goods for a further three months. Electricity and water fees have also been waived for a further three months, for sectors such as hospitality, tourism, retail, small and medium industries, commercial complexes, and logistics areas.

The 3rd Qatar US strategic dialogue, cements ties.

A joint statement underlines the strengths of the bilateral relationship and the convergence of views on regional and international issues.

The US and Qatar have signed an MoU on education, culture and sports. And also a Statement of Intent has been signed, designating 2021 as the US – Qatar year of culture.

Plus there was an announcement of intent, for Qatar to host an investment forum in the United States, in 2021.

Road accidents on the decline in Qatar

Traffic accidents in Qatar are on the decline, despite a marked increase in the number of vehicles on the roads. This is thanks to the improved road infrastructure, and adherence to traffic laws by motorists. Plus, I think getting rid of all of those roundabouts probably helped a bit.

The decision by parents on the mode of learning for their children, is final and it can’t be changed, says an official.

Once the choice has been made between Blended or distance learning there can be no further changes, until the end of the first semester.

Active cases of COVID-19 are now 2,841

Of those being tested,  5 in 100 people are testing positive.

8 cases in the last 24 hour period were returning travelers, that are now in quarantine.
