The declaration affirms ‘Gulf, Arab and Islamic solidarity and stability’
Saudi Arabia and its allies have restored full relations with Qatar Riyadh said yesterday after a landmark GCC summit ending a damning rift that erupted in 2017.
Saudi said that the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt were joining it in re-establishing ties with Qatar.
Qatar’s land border at Abu Samara was open yesterday, a Gulf times team which visited the location from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM found.
After the announcement of lifting the blockade was made on Monday night, the authorities opened the border for the first time after three years and seven months. Tight security is in place at Abu Samara according to a Gulf times staff Reporter. It is understood that preparations are underway for the resumption of cross border traffic in line with the preventative and preparatory measures against COVID-19.
And the Minister of Finance His Eminence Ali sherif El Emadi inaugurated the St. Regis Hotel on Cairo’s Nile Cornish, which is owned by the Qatari Diar. The opening was attended by the Egyptian Minister of Finance and the United States Secretary of the Treasury.

In the last 24-hour period, active cases of COVID-19 have increased by 77, to 2,551.
11,145 COVID-19 tests were performed, and just 1.87% of those tested positive.
Of those testing positive 25 were travellers who are now in quarantine.
