The vaccine centre at the Qatar National Convention centre or QNCC is intended for specific groups on a priority basis, and invitations will be sent in a gradual and phased manner to ensure the safety of society, and a smooth and effective vaccination process.

Russia reports first cases of H5N8 bird flu virus in humans

Several people in Russia have been found to be infected with avian flu of the sub type H5N8, which is its first reported cases of animal to human transmission.

Seven employees at a poultry farm in the South of the country fell in December, however those affected were doing well and have recovered.

Weather

The Met Office have put out a warning that there is expected to be thundery rain with strong winds today. Generally, the weather will be cloudy with moderate temperatures and a chance of rain which may be thundery at times.

Doha will see temperatures between 17 and 24 degrees. Today’s lowest temperature will be in Messaid which will see temperatures as low as 15 degrees.
