Deal to end Gulf crisis will not change Doha’s ties with any other country says the Foreign Minister

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs His Eminence Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has said Qatar will not alter its relations with any other country even after the lifting of the blockade.

Sheikh Mohammed told the Financial Times that Doha had agreed to cooperate on counter terrorism and transnational security with Saudi Arabia and three other states that had imposed an embargo on Qatar.

But he said bilateral relationships are mainly driven by a sovereign decision of the country and the national interest

So there is no effect on our relationship with any other country he said, adding that there would be no changes to Al Jazeera.

Hopefully within a week from the signing, things should come back to normal Sheikh Mohammed said.
