Over half a million fully vaccinated against COVID-19

The Ministry of Public Health have announced that 507,743 people have received both doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Which means that 22.3% of the eligible population are now fully vaccinated against the virus.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry bans the washing of vehicles in parking lots

Car washing is to be limited to licenced companies and will take place solely in underground parking lots or in other words the basement of commercial places and malls.

Additionally, general and special requirements as per laws and regulations must be adhered to. Including allocating suitable places for car washing activities with drainage points, ensuring that employees wear clean and decent uniforms bearing the name of the company and the worker, maintaining general cleanliness and abstaining from accosting and bothering customers.

Cameras to catch seat belt and mobile use violations soon

To curb the practise of not fastening seat belts and using mobile phones while driving the general Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior is all set to launch a new project designed to catch violators. Cameras installed at strategic locations on roads and roundabouts, will be used to monitor traffic violations of all kinds such as not fasting seatbelt’s, talking on mobile phones while driving, wrong crossing, over speeding, breaking red signals and other traffic violations that pose a threat to public safety on the road.

In the last 24-hour period, there have been 705 new cases of COVID-19 and 1,548 recoveries. Unfortunately, there were also 10 Covid related deaths. Which means for the fourth day running there has been a decrease in active cases, today dropping by an enormous 853 giving us a new current total of 20,251 active cases.
