The Pakistan embassy in Qatar remains closed tomorrow but will reopen on Sunday the 16th of August in its new larger enhanced premises.
The Philippine embassy in Qatar has said it will be temporarily closed from today until further notice, after a family member of one of its personnel tested positive for COVID-19. However, you can still contact the embassy via email, telephone, or their Facebook page.
Scientists at the Qatar environment and energy Research Institute (or Qeeri) at Hamad bin Khalifa University have developed a new type of filtration technology which can remove small oil droplets from sea water. The technology can be used for things such as cleaning up oil spills and water desalination.
Russia develops the world’s first COVID-19 vaccine. But the World Health Organisation urges caution. A WHO spokesman in Geneva said it was in close contact with the Russian health authorities, but it was too soon for any WHO stamp of approval.
Qatar Airways Holidays has announced five more staycation offers within Qatar. The new offers are luxurious hotels La Cigal, Marriott Marquis, Al Wadi, the Westin and the W.
Fans can gradually start to return to stadiums with caution says the Qatar stars League.
Active cases of COVID-19 here in Qatar remain stable at just above 3,000. With no significant change in the last month. And as a 7 day average, 9% of those being tested are testing positive.
