All schools to adopt distance learning from Sunday says the Ministry of Education and Higher Education

Starting from April the 4th all schools, universities, and kindergartens in Qatar will adopt distance learning in the wake of a recent spike in COVID-19 cases.

Hamad Medical Corporation designates Al Wakra Hospital as a Covid facility

The decision has been taken to meet a surge in coronavirus cases

The hospital will add a further 400 beds along with 150 intensive care unit beds should they be required

The emergency Department there will close at midnight tonight

Qatar and the United Kingdom expand defence ties

Qatar represented by the Amiri Air Force, and the United Kingdom represented by the Royal Air Force, have signed an MoU aimed at expanding the current partnership between the two air forces.

Qatar’s weather today

Doha will see temperatures between 22 and 38 degrees. Elsewhere in the country it will be between 17 and 37 degrees.

In the last 24-hour period, there have been 840 new cases of COVID-19 and 423 recoveries. Unfortunately, there were also 4 Covid related deaths. Which means there’s been an increase of 413 cases giving us a new current total of 15,965 active cases.
